This Week's Challenge: A One of a Kind Dress for Success Scarf

Click here to purchase this scarf designed to benefit the Dress for Success program.

In this week's challenge I want to urge everyone to take a look at this beautiful scarf created by the clothing company Echo in conjunction and collaboration with the wonderful Dress for Success non-profit organization.  Many people have heard about the Dress for Success program, but how much do you really know about them.  Dress for Success was founded in New York City in 1997 and have now spread to countries all over the world including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico and have now served over 550,000 women worldwide.

As is stated on their website, "The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life."

On a client's initial visit a woman receives a suit appropriate for the industry in which she is interviewing and, if available, accessories. After a woman finds a job she returns to Dress for Success for additional clothing that can be mixed and matched to make several outfits, providing her with the foundation for a professional wardrobe.  This means any woman out there including, but not limited to women residing in domestic violence shelters.

As I stated previously the Dress for Success program has teamed up with a fabulous company called Echo which is known for their principles based on creativity, service, innovation, and quality.  Edgar and Theresa Hyman built the company from the ground up based on company values that have enabled them to maintain success and loyalty from their customers, business partners, and employees for 85 years.

I contacted Echo and Jennifer Plantz had this to say about The Compassion Fashion Project and their mission to help DFS, "Thanks for writing in and introducing you and your blog! We’re really honored to partner with DFS and are happy to say that we donate $15 to DFS for EACH scarf sold on our site so anything you do to mention the work DFS does and / or the scarf, will help those women in need."

*Fun Fact: Echo was the first brand name ever printed on a scarf*
By purchasing this scarf you will be enabling the Dress for Success program to continue its amazing leadership qualities for women in the workplace.  Not only do they provide women with professional attire, but they have also developed programs such as the Professional Women's Group Program and their Career Center available to all women seeking and/or trying to maintain employement.

I just want to stress that you do NOT have to be in a shelter to receive services from the wonderful people of Dress for Success, so buy purchasing this scarf you are helping women everywhere retain their dignity from the benefits of self-sufficiency.  The scarf retails for $30.00 in which $15.00 will be donated to Dress for Success.
