Friends Assisting Women in Need, Inc. did just that, in a most fabulous way, at their annual
FAWN Dinner and Fashion Show that benefited Housing Opportunities in the budding town of Valparaiso, Indiana. Housing Opportunities is a HUD-approved and state certified housing agency that serves all of Northwest Indiana and empowers its clients whom are homeless, (most of which are so due to domestic violence), to gain life skills, self-reliance, job preparation training, and find housing options that are safe and affordable. Ultimately, their goal is to break the cycle of homelessness by providing preventative and crisis services.

Those in charge and in attendance of the event not only raised money to impact many people’s lives, but had an enjoyable time doing so by getting a sneak peek at upcoming Fall fashions and trends from local boutiques, Beyond Pink, Inc., Seasons on the Square, and David’s Menswear.

ReplyDeleteits so inspiring to see the fashion world getting involved in raising awareness regarding social issues!
ReplyDeleteFashion does seem to be becoming a conduit to do good things and promote awareness about social issues. Art and music has been a medium to do this in the past and it only is natural to use fashion as an art form in this way.
